Network Fees

Send transactions from your Coinme Wallet are subject to network fees. These fees are calculated at the time you initiate your transaction and are influenced by factors such as the cryptocurrency being sent, current network conditions, blockchain type, and cost we incur to facilitate your transaction. Before submitting your transaction, always check the total fee amount in the transaction preview screen. By completing a transaction, you agree to pay the previewed fee for that transaction.

Note: USDC sends are free when using the Stellar blockchain.

Understanding Network Fees Across Different Blockchains

Every blockchain network charges fees to process transactions, but these fees vary significantly between networks. Bitcoin network fees fluctuate based on network congestion and the transaction size. Ethereum transactions require "gas" fees paid to miners, measured in Gwei (fractional units of Ether). Gas fees vary based on network traffic and computational complexity, and can be quite high during periods of congestion.

Other popular networks like Solana, XRP, Litecoin, and Dogecoin typically have lower base network costs, though they can still fluctuate based on network activity. Some cryptocurrencies, like USDC, can be sent on multiple different blockchains. For example, USDC on the Stellar network has no network fees, while USDC sent as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum is subject to Ethereum gas fees.

These network fees are not controlled by Coinme—they're determined by the miners or validators who process transactions on each blockchain and are published publicly. The total fee you see in your transaction preview includes both the current blockchain network fee and Coinme's service charge.
