How to buy cryptocurrency at a Coinstar kiosk

Buying cryptocurrency at a Coinstar kiosk is a simple process that allows you to purchase cryptocurrencies at over 4,000 locations across the United States. This guide walks you through each step from purchase to receiving your crypto in your Coinme wallet.

To ensure a smooth transaction, you'll need an approved Coinme account before purchasing cryptocurrency at a Coinstar kiosk. Make sure you have your mobile device with you, as it's required for the verification process and must be active to complete your purchase.

On the front screen of the Coinstar kiosk, tap in "Bitcoin & Crypto".

Tap in “Coinme” to proceed with your purchase.

The next screen will present available cryptocurrencies for purchase. Coinstar kiosks support multiple cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Chainlink, Polygon, and Stellar. Select the cryptocurrency you wish to purchase.

For security, Coinme uses Two Factor Authentication (2FA) for all kiosk purchases.

1. Enter your phone number: Input the phone number associated with your approved Coinme account at the kiosk.

2. Enter the code: A six-digit code will be sent via text message to your mobile device. Input the code into the kiosk and click "Submit" to continue your purchase.

The kiosk will show you important information about your purchase, including fees, limits, and policies. Read through all the information carefully, then tap "I Understand" to continue.

Review our terms and conditions, then tap 'Accept' if you agree.

Insert your cash into the kiosk to complete the transaction.

Your cryptocurrency purchase will be automatically added to your Coinme wallet immediately after the transaction is complete at the Coinstar kiosk.

There's no need to enter any receipt information into the Coinme mobile app manually. Simply use the same phone number at the kiosk that's associated with your approved Coinme account, and your crypto will appear in your wallet right away.
