A wallet address is a string of letters and numbers that identifies where cryptocurrency can be sent. Think of it like an email address, but for crypto. If someone wants to send you Bitcoin, they need your Bitcoin wallet address.
Here's what a Bitcoin wallet address looks like:

And an Ethereum address:

They look random, but each one is mathematically unique to your wallet.
Important rules about wallet addresses
Each cryptocurrency has its own address format. A Bitcoin address and an Ethereum address are not interchangeable. Sending Bitcoin to an Ethereum address, or vice versa, can result in permanent loss of funds.
Some cryptocurrencies run on multiple networks. For example, USDT exists on the Ethereum network, the Tron network, and several others. If someone sends you USDT on a network that your wallet doesn't support, you may not be able to access it.
Always copy and paste. Don't try to type a wallet address by hand. One wrong character means your crypto goes to the wrong place, or to an address that doesn't exist. Either way, it's gone.
Double-check before sending. After pasting, verify that the first few and last few characters of the address match what you intended. Some malware is designed to swap wallet addresses in your clipboard.
Addresses can be reused. Your wallet address doesn't change after each transaction, though some wallets rotate addresses for privacy. You can share the same address multiple times.
Finding your wallet address in the Coinme app
Your Coinme wallet has a separate address for each cryptocurrency you hold. To find your address:
Open the Coinme app
Tap the cryptocurrency you want to receive
Look for your wallet address or QR code
You can share this address with anyone who wants to send you crypto. For a detailed walkthrough, see: How to share your wallet address
What is a QR code?
A QR code is a visual representation of your wallet address.
Instead of copying and pasting a long string of text, the sender can scan your QR code with their phone's camera and the address fills in automatically. You can also use your QR code to receive crypto on a second device without needing to type or copy your address manually.
You'll see a QR code alongside your wallet address in the Coinme app. Each cryptocurrency has its own QR code, corresponding to its unique wallet address.
