Swap one cryptocurrency for another directly in your Coinme app, in seconds and with no blockchain fees. This article shows you how to start a swap, confirm it, and find your transaction details afterward.
Quick start
Open the Coinme app → tap Swap
Tap From → select the coin you want to swap
Tap To → select the coin you want to receive
Enter the dollar amount → Continue
Review the swap details → Confirm
Tap Done — your new balance appears right away
Note: You need crypto in your Coinme Wallet to start a swap. If your wallet is empty, the app will prompt you to fund your wallet first.
Note: To swap crypto, your account must be verified with your Social Security number (SSN). If you haven't completed this step yet, the app will ask you to upgrade your account when you start a swap. This information is required for tax purposes.
Supported coins
You can swap between the cryptocurrencies available in the Coinme app. When choosing the coin you want to receive, the To list shows every coin currently available for swapping, even ones you don't hold yet.
Note: If swaps are unavailable in your location, the Swap option may not appear in your app.
Step-by-step instructions
1. Open the Swap screen
There are three ways to start a swap in the Coinme app:
From the home screen: Tap the Swap button in the action bar at the bottom
From the Swap banner: Tap the Crypto Swaps banner, then tap Swap Now
From a specific coin: Open the coin in your wallet, then tap Swap
2. Choose your coins
Tap the From tile and select the coin you want to swap. You'll only see coins you currently hold, with your available balance for each
Tap the To tile and select the coin you want to receive. You'll see all supported coins, even ones you don't hold yet
Tip: Tap the arrows icon between the From and To tiles to reverse the swap direction.
3. Enter the amount
Type the dollar amount you want to swap using the keypad. The equivalent amount in crypto is displayed below the dollar value. Tap Continue.
4. Review and confirm
The confirmation screen shows the full details of your swap:
Amount of crypto being swapped
Transaction fees
Total, including fees
Amount of the new coin you'll receive
If everything looks correct, tap Confirm.
Important: Completed swaps are final and cannot be reversed or refunded. Review the details carefully before confirming.
5. All done!
A success screen confirms your swap was completed, showing the exact amounts exchanged. Tap Done to return to your wallet. Your updated balances appear right away.
Note: If your swap can't be processed, the app will let you know and give you the option to try again. If the issue continues, contact us through the Help button in the app.
Swap limits
Swaps are subject to transaction limits, which can vary by account. You can view your current limits in the Coinme app by tapping the Account icon and selecting Transaction Limits. If a swap would exceed your available limit, the app lets you know before you reach the confirmation screen.

Where to find your swap details
Step 1: On the home screen, scroll to the Activity section
Step 2: Tap the swap transaction you want to review
The transaction details screen shows the status, date, transaction ID (with a copy option), exchange rate, fees, total, and the amount you received.
Frequently asked questions
Are there blockchain or gas fees?
No. Swaps are completed by Coinme without an on-chain transaction, so there are no blockchain network fees. You only pay the transaction fee shown before you confirm.
How long does a swap take?
Swaps usually complete within seconds. Your new balance appears in your wallet as soon as the swap is done.
Can I cancel a swap?
No. Once a swap is completed it's final and non-refundable, so always review the confirmation screen before tapping Confirm.
Why don't I see the Swap option in my app?
Make sure your app is updated to the latest version. If it's up to date and you still don't see it, swaps may not be available in your location yet.
