You'll need to provide your Social Security Number in order to sell crypto
If you have verified your account by sharing a photo of your ID and selfie, you'll be prompted to share your SSN once you attempt to start a selling transaction for the first time.
Coinme is required to collect SSN for customers who sell crypto. See ssa.gov for more information on Social Security Numbers.
Note: This process is not available on Mastercard Debit Cards. It is only available for Visa Debit Cards at this time.
Step-by-step
After logging into your account, this process is similar on both the Coinme mobile app and through your account on the web.
1. Select Transact
2. Select Sell
3. Select the Coin to Sell
4. Select a Previously Linked Visa Debit Card Or Select Link Card to link a Visa Debit Card to your account

5. After selecting the card you will be selling to, you will be directed to enter the Amount of Coin you want to Sell, then select Continue.
Make sure you account for fees when processing the transaction.
Note: Once the amount is entered, the gray writing will show what the available balance will be after the transaction
6. After selecting Continue, you will be directed to a Confirmation page
7. After verifying the details of the transaction, select Confirm
8. You will be presented with a Verification Request via Passcode, 2FA, or your Fingerprint ID
9. After completing Verification, your sale is Complete!
