Coinme supports debit cards for buying and selling cryptocurrency directly from your account. For security and compliance, we use micro-transactions to validate your card before allowing transactions.

  • Debit Visa card for Buy and Sell transactions

Pro Tip: The best practice is to use a debit card from a Bank or Credit Union that is FDIC-approved

Cards currently not accepted:

  • Credit Cards

  • Cards from digital-based institutions such as Paypal and Venmo

  • Cards that are unable to perform micro-transactions

How to Add Your Debit Card

1. To add your Debit card, start by selecting the Transact button

2. Select your desired Buy or Sell option from the list of possible transactions

3. On the Select Payment Method screen, if you've previously linked a debit card, select the card you'd like to use for your transaction. If you have not yet linked your debit card, select Link Card.

4. Provide the requested details: Card Number, Expiration Date, & CVC, then select Next. (The next button will only be selectable if the values provided have been confirmed as valid information.)

5. You must then provide your registered billing address for the debit card that was entered in step 4. (The card's billing address must be from a state where Coinme is licensed to do business.)

Pro Tip: Your card's billing address must match your residential address. If there is an address mismatch, your purchase transaction might not be successful.

6. The final step is to verify card ownership through the confirmation of two "micro-transactions" that will be recorded as pending to your debit card account.

  • Check your card activity for 2 pending transactions from Coinme.

  • Enter the amounts of them in the fields on the page and press Verify Card.

These transactions will never be completed and will only be identified as pending on your account until the card has been linked.

If you encounter problems with this process see this article: I Can't Verify My Debit Card

7. Once the micro-transactions have been verified, you will be able to proceed with buying or selling cryptocurrency with your Debit card.
