Coinstar Redemption Process

Why was the redemption process changed?

The redemption process was changed to improve your overall experience and to make buying crypto at Coinme easier.

What changed?

Starting September 11, 2023, any crypto purchases at a Coinstar kiosk will be automatically added to your Coinme wallet if the phone number used at the Coinstar kiosk is the same as the one associated with your approved Coinme account.

You do not need to manually input your Coinstar Receipt information into the Coinme mobile app.

How does it work?

All you have to do is use the phone number that is on your approved Coinme account at the Coinstar kiosk, and your crypto purchase will show in your Coinme wallet immediately after the transaction is complete at the Coinstar kiosk.

How long will it take for funds to show in my wallet?

If the phone number entered at the Coinstar kiosk is the same as the phone number associated with your approved Coinme account, your cryptocurrency will usually show in your Coinme account immediately after your purchase at the Coinstar kiosk.


What If My Transaction Fails?

As long as the phone number entered at the kiosk is the same phone number on your approved Coinme account, the transaction will not fail.

What If My Crypto Doesn't Immediately Show In My Wallet?

If your crypto does not immediately show in your wallet, you should rule out any technical issues with your device first:

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Initiate a hard restart of your device (leave it off for 5 minutes).

  • Ensure that there are no pending updates on your device.

  • Ensure that you have the latest version of our Mobile App downloaded on your device.

  • If you are using a web browser, clear cache and/or cookies.

If your funds still do not appear, please Contact Customer Support. for assistance and have the following information ready:

  • Your Coinstar receipt

  • The phone number used to purchase the crypto at the kiosk

  • The phone number that shows on your approved Coinme account; and

  • The email address on your approved Coinme account.

What if I have “Old Vouchers”?

Please note that this method is only valid for crypto purchases at a Coinstar kiosk prior to September 11, 2023.

We want to make things as easy as possible for you. For that reason, you can still redeem your old vouchers the previous way.

To redeem existing crypto purchases, manually enter your redemption code and the pin number into the Coinme mobile app or at Coinme.com.
