Introduction: Coinme now offers an enhanced security feature that allows you to verify your account using a 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) code sent to your email. This step-by-step guide will help you understand how to use this new feature.
Step 1: Generate a 5-digit Code for Validation
Coinme will generate a 5-digit code for user validation when you attempt to log in.
Step 2: Default 2FA Code Delivery via SMS
By default, you will receive the 5-digit code via SMS. (If needed, you can request the code to be re-sent via SMS.)
Step 3: Requesting the 2FA Code via Email
You can choose to receive the 5-digit code via email instead of SMS.
When you select this option, Coinme will send the 5-digit code to your email associated with your account.
Step 4: Notification of Code Sent
Once a 2FA code is requested, you will see the following in-app notification "Verification code has been sent!"
Step 5: Receiving the 2FA Code via Email
Check your email inbox for a message from Coinme that includes the 5-digit code. To ensure the security of your account, please verify that the email you received is from "no-reply@coinme.com”
Step 6: Option to “Remember This Device”
When entering the 5-digit code, you will have the option to request that our system remember your current device. This will prevent the need for 2FA during the next 24 hours. Please check the box if you would like this feature enabled.
Step 7: Inputting the 2FA Code
7a: Successful Code Entry
Enter the 5-digit code you received.
If entered correctly, you will gain access to your account.
7b: Incorrect Code Entry
If you enter the code incorrectly, you will see the following error message:
If you continue to enter an incorrect code, the system will require a 15-minute wait interval before you can try again.
If you enter an incorrect code too many times, a 24-hour wait interval will be enforced for the security of your account.
