Why is my account locked?

Accounts can be locked for a few different reasons, the most common of which is too many failed password attempts during the login process.


The lock in that case is to prevent an unwanted login and protect your funds.

This can be resolved by resetting your password.

How do I reset my password?

If your account was locked due to many failed password attempts during the login process, you will need to reset your password here in order to be able to access your account again. Please note that you do not need to talk to an agent in order to reset your password.


How would I know if my account has been locked?

If your account has been locked in order to prevent an unwanted login and to protect your funds, you will see an account-locked error screen on the following touch points:

  • Coinstar Kiosk

  • Mobile app

  • Web browser

If after resetting your password you are still unable to log in, you account may have been locked for another security reason. If that is the case, you will have to talk to an agent.
